Derbyshire Footpaths Preservation Society is a voluntary organisation funded by subscriptions, affiliations and donations. The Area covered by the Society is the southern half of Derbyshire, that is Derby itself, the whole of Amber Valley, Erewash and South Derbyshire Districts together with the southern half of Derbyshire Dales District. The object of the Society is the preservation and defence of the rights of the public to the enjoyment and use of public paths. The major objectives are to induce the local authorities to carry out their duties regarding the public rights of way, to consider all relevant diversion and closure orders, and to deal with complaints from members and non members about rights of way. Registered Charity No. 503621
